Kaley and George’s gorgeous wedding at Addison Grove will forever be one of my favorites! Kaley and I originally started working together in September of 2019 on some fun save the dates and invitations for their original wedding date of April 2020. Just three weeks before their wedding date, of course, 2020 let us know it had other plans, and we had to reschedule to early 2021. I have to say, though, if I had to choose, this sweet couple would always be my choice to work with for an extra year! All in all, I created two separate save the dates and invitation suites for K+G, as well as full day of wedding branding.
For Kaley and George, we started with a questionnaire all about them as a couple, and what they wanted their experience for their guests to look like. From there, I created a mood-board, pulling together their overall goals for the feel of their wedding with their specific color palette, and we created the beginnings of their “wedding brand” which would keep a cohesive feel from their save the date to the wedding day signage.
For the original date, we worked together on a white ink on charcoal save the date, keeping the design simple and organic. Kaley’s main request for the first invitation suite was for the deep teal pocket to bring the suite together, and a wax seal, so I created a custom monogram for the wax seal and outer postage that we ended up using variations of throughout their stationery and day of items (including the dance floor!). We finished off the personal touches with a stamp of their pup Bentley on the rsvp envelope and some bluebonnet touches on the custom photo corners holding the invitation as well as the envelope liner.
After rescheduling, (thank you, 2020), I wanted to keep the new suite and save the date cohesive, but update it a bit for the new date. We opted for a softer color palette and a gorgeous blind embossed letterpress detail on each of the cards of the bluebonnets from the original invite. The whole suite was tied together with a vellum wrap and swiss velvet ribbon.
K+G’s wedding day signage is where we really brought all of the magic to life for their guests! We used pearlized acrylic with charcoal lettering in the same style as their invites for the welcome sign, bar menus, and smaller signs throughout, bringing just the right amount of shimmer to the space. The Addison Grove Barn was fully decked out with draping and gorgeous florals by Remi + Gold, and was truly the dreamiest reception space!
We created a giant escort wall with ombré escort cards, which Remi + Gold dressed up with a floral masterpiece.
The final touches were deep teal dinner menus with a vellum wrap and wax seal, and tile place cards for the head table. As we pulled up to cleanup, we were treated to the custom fireworks show and sparkler exit! Truly a magical wedding for the sweetest bride and groom!
I am so impressed with Megan and her work. Not only is Megan extremely talented, but she is also a pleasure to work with. She really took the time to understand my vision and executed it perfectly, while also suggesting some of her own ideas (which I have loved!)For our wedding day, she did a ton including all of our menus and signage, table numbers, ties for our blankets, a GORGEOUS escort card display, place cards, and even designed our dance floor monogram to match the monogram we used on our other items. Each of these items was executed flawlessly. Megan’s attention to detail is unparalleled and she is truly so talented. What I love about Megan’s work is that she takes your vision and then puts her own artistic spin on it, so it’s still exactly what you want but even better and more cohesive.
Kaleys favorite touch? The personalized portrait stamps of their pup Bentley. (Also my favorite!!)
